Three-Way Conference...

I have been able to get my Linksys SPA941 phones to work great in a NAT'ed environment. The only problem comes when we try to perform a 3-way-conference. When trying to conference from a phone outside the local network, the sound drops out for all three parties. Is there some special TCP port used for 3-way-conferencing? From a SIP standpoint, how does this work?
