We have a trixbox pro CCE system and are we are trying to get a Cisco 7941G working with it. From what I have read the 8.0.2SR1 SIP version of the firmware is the one to use. I have loaded this firmware on the phone and have followed the guides that others have posted on creating the phone config file, but still can't get the phone to register with the server to make calls.

Does anyone have a Cisco 7941G working with a trixbox pro system? If so can you please post your XML config file for me to see where I am going wrong.

Cheers,
Gasmanz

The 7941 I believe uses the new XML format configuration file. You would need to create the from scratch because Pro supports the 7940/7960 which use a different config file format.

Done that

I have created the XML file from the information that others have posted already. The other poeple that are using the 7941 phones are not on the trixbox pro systems which seems to make a bit of a difference with the config file parameters they use, and the phones SIP firmware version you can use.

I have tried just about everything in the XML config parameters. I just need some help from someone that has one working.

Cisco 7941G now working

Its working now with the config I have put together. On the trixbox pro system you need to call Fonality and have the sip.conf on the hosted server adjusted so that the device entry has NAT disabled. Without NAT being disabled the phone will not register with the server. The only outstanding issue is for the MWI. I have tried the SIP firmware versions from 8.0.2 to 8.2.2SR3 and non of them activate the MWI on the phones.

There is no tone through the handset to indicate you have a message waiting either. I tried the 8.3.3SR2 firmware but that just displays Unprovisioned on the phones display after the config file is loaded.

Anyone have some answers for these issues?

RE: 7941G

extract the firmware file in the directory /tftpboot.

First run the "setup-cisco" command shell.

Verify that the file OS79XX.TXT containing the line: P003-08-3-01

And then set up the trixbox as ftp server on your phone.

Then use the endpoint manager in the trixbox web portal (Setup mac address and extension).

reboot your phone.
