users.xml file not being udpated when extensions are changed

I have to manually edit the users.xml file for the extension changes to show up in HUD. I make the changes in FreePBX and also go into the HUDLite Admin page which reflects the changes I made in FreePBX, however they are not applied to the users.xml file.

I am thinking possibly a permissions issue but not sure where to start?

Thanks.

Make sure the users.xml file is owned by asterisk:asterisk

Same problem here.

Same problem here. users.xml is owned by asterisk:asterisk, but when I add a new extension in TrixBox (freePBX), the new extension doesn't appear in users.xml. I tried changing permissions on users.xml to 774 (from 664), but that didn't help. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I just figured out the

I just figured out the problem.

If I add a new extension to TrixBox, then that does NOT update the users.xml file for HUD. The users.xml file is ONLY updated when you access the HUDlite Admin screen. At that time, users.xml is updated with all of the extensions and they will then show up in any HUDlite clients.

Of course, it's necessary to access the HUDlite Admin screen to retrieve the password for any new extensions that are added, so everything should be updated correctly at that time.
