Do Not Disturb (from phone or asterisk?)

By accident, i was pushing lots of buttons on the GXP-1200 phone and suddenly a blinking "STOP" sign appeared on the screen!

Apparently, i had activated the phone's Do Not Disturb feature... no idea how i did that but it seemed to have weird results because it was different from the Do Not Disturb feature that comes with asterisk (*78 to enable *79 to disable).

For example, the phone DND makes ringing tones to the incoming caller while the asterisk DND does not.

Anyone know the real differences and why the Grandstream phone has its own DND feature instead of using the asterisk one?

Most phones have local DND,

Most phones have local DND, the difference is Asterisk is unaware of the DND, the phone simply rejects the call and it is trated as user unavailable.

ah thats interesting...

too bad the GXP1200 doesn't have a DND button on it and you have to navigate the menu to enable/disable it...

i wonder which buttons i pressed and i enabled by accident...
