I have asked my ISDN provider and they only says to me that the isdn is point to point.

I want to install the A500 Bri in an HP server to connect to the isdn with some softphones.

Thanks.

Hi, If you are connecting

Hi,

If you are connecting to telco then you would use the TE mode. NT mode is for connecting to ISDN phones or another PBX (TE). Also verify the card is physically setup correct, there is instructions at our wiki page http://wiki.sangoma.com/sangoma-wanpipe-smg-asterisk-bri-installa....

Thanks Marc.

I have one more question.

With other ISDN cards i have seen that use one rj45 with one connector in each extreme.
But the A500 uses a rj with one connector labeled "A500" in one extreme and two connectors in the other extreme labeled "port N" and "port N+1".

Could you explainme why is this?

Thanks

I answer myself: Because

I answer myself: Because each module is 2 bri ports, not one.

Hello Marc, in the Sangoma

Hello Marc, in the Sangoma Wiki link there is a section:

"A500 BRI Termination resistors to switch between NT and TE modes"

Is this necessary or only to put the module correctly (red face for TE and green one for NT)?.

Thanks.

Hi, Yes this is necessary

Hi,

Yes this is necessary because the resistor switches change depending on the mode you are in, there is a good picture of this at http://wiki.sangoma.com/sangoma-wanpipe-smg-asterisk-bri-installa.... So for TE mode the switches have to be off or rather closer to the RJ45 connectors, then in NT mode the switches have to be on.

During wancfg_smg, at the answer:

Would you like to configure A500 BRI card as timing source for Zaptel?
I select "NO".

I have only this PCI card installed in the server. Is this all right or is better to disabel ztdummy and select "Yes" to the answer?.

Thanks Marc.

(All the problem is that i can't make or receive calls and the message in the console is:

-- Executing [680275218@from-internal:1] Dial("SIP/51-09ceac38", "WOOMERA/g1/680275218") in new stack
[Aug 1 12:44:04] WARNING[2395]: channel.c:3025 ast_request: No channel type registered for 'WOOMERA'

== Everyone is busy/congested at this time (1:0/0/1)
== Auto fallthrough, channel 'SIP/51-09ceac38' status is 'CHANUNAVAIL'

This was with the module as te mode (red face) but without changing the resistors. I have to probe it changing the resistors.

Hi, If our card is a zaptel

Hi,

If our card is a zaptel timing source or not is up to you. If you find ztdummy is working fine then you can leave it with ztdummy, if this is not sufficient for you can select yes to use our card as your timing source.

For the issue of not being able to call in or out of the system please send an email to techdesk@sangoma.com along with a brief description. From there we will assist you in trouble shooting this issue further.
