Analog DID
Hi Gasmanz,
Our card is just an interface card so it replies on Zaptel/Asterisk to handle all the signaling, so in this certain case our card is identical to digium's card. With this said there is two different ways of doing analog DID one is called Wink-Start and the other is called Immediate-Start.
We have had some customers try the Wink-Start method and they had some issues with setting it up, for information about this you would have to find out how zaptel does this.
For the Immediate-Start method, this should work because in this case telco is the FXO side and you're PBX is the FXS side. The way the digits are sent is telco picks up the line and places the DTMF digits for the DID across the line. This is exactly like having an analog phone connected to our card and dialing DTMF, so this should work without any issues.
With all this said we have not setup our card with an analog DID line so we can not confirm it will work. So i would recommend you find out if zaptel does Wink start then try to set this up, and if this does not work then go with the Immediate-Start method which should work without any issues.

Analog DID is handled at a hardware level and must be interpreted as E&M for Zaptel. Zaptel has no native support for this and it requires polarity reversals and some magic to make the telco talk. We have several customers in Canada using ADID in 911 center environments etc. It is simple enough to do with our cards they just work...
