Does anyone use the Polycom IP601 phones with the sidecar and if so, do you have a work-around for not being able to transfer direct to voicemail by prepending a star before hitting the one touch? Further I have heard rumor that Polycom may be implementing this in a future upgrade - can anyone confirm that?

Also does anyone know how to make the one touch default to a blind transfer instead of having to hit transfer blind

Thanks

I have a 650 with 3 side

I have a 650 with 3 side cars and we hit transfer button then extension on sidecar then hit the transfer button again. That transfers the call to the extension if the person doesn't answer then it goes to vm. We don't transfer direct to vm. Not sure this is what you are looking for.

That is not what this

That is not what this customer needs. They have it set so that if the call doesn't get answered at the desk of whoever they transfer to then it rings back to the operator, then if the person opts for voicemail they want to be able to do the equivalent of a blind transfer to *ext which will go direct to voicemail, but they want to use as few keypresses as possible to do this.

Also of interest would be to make EVERY transfer a blind transfer and only make it an attended transfer if you pick that off the softkeys.

If you have enough "open"

If you have enough "open" slots on your sidecar, then you set up additional speed dials that go directly to VM. So for 10 people/extensions, I have 10 slots for the persons extension, then another 10 slots for their respective VM.

I don't know how to make the Polycom default, or workaround, to blind txfr.
