Sangoma A200 causing asterisk to not load properly at boot

We are having a problem where systems (2 completely different servers - 1 certified, 1 not) using a Sangoma A200 (2 different cards with HW 2005, FW V11) will not properly start asterisk on boot. After the system is running and we issue a reset all from the web control panel asterisk will load properly and the system will function normally until the next full system reboot or shutdown/boot. I have noticed that after starting the VPN connection, while starting asterisk, there is a message:
"/bin/chown: cannot access '/dev/zap' : No such file or directory"
The system then proceeds to "Starting PBXtra Core" and Starting PBXtra Monitor" but asterisk does not run until a "Reset All" from the control panel). I have noticed that the ownership of the folder /dev/zap and the files within do change after a "Restart All".

Can anyone help out here?

Has anyone seen anything

Has anyone seen anything like this before? It is a consistent problem that does not get fixed with reinstallation on different server hardware.

The only thing consistent in the hardware has been the analog cards, both are HW version 2005 (we have updated the firmware from V7 to V11).

If sounds like the card

If sounds like the card wasn't configured properly. Did you add the card post-activation? I can take a look at it if you want, you may also want to try "Re Detect Cards Now" in the Options -> Cards page.

Thanks,
Mike

I have installed it in an existing system as well as put it in before installation, I have redetected from both the ip/ip menu as well as the web interface, I have even manually configured the card. Nothing works...

Very weird, it could be a number of things (like a bad card). Can you give me the server ID of this system so I can take a look?

Thanks,
Mike

There is one up right now - 118264.

I was thinking the same thing (bad card) but it works just fine after a "reset all" is run. And it happens with two different cards (both are HW version 2005).

Thanks.

I was going to try to reproduce this problem on your system but there was a concurrent call on the system. I want to have somebody take a look at it, do you have an existing support key? If so I will credit it some time so that you can get a hold of somebody in support to figure this out. PM me your support key if you have one.

Thanks,
Mike

One active FXO port?

I ran into that with more than one server if I configured only one active FXO port. If you leave two FXO ports active with one just disconnected it starts up fine but will sometimes try to send calls out over the disconnected line. It is an open issue for us yet. Affected servers: 123360 107606 102563

Pat,

We had originally let the system auto configure the card with a single FXO module plugged in, meaning it had 2 ports to configure; this would fail. If we populated the card with 2 FXO modules for a total of 4 ports, all in the same group, it would fail as well. I can tell you, however, that we never had more than one analog line connected during boot as we don't have but one available at the bench for testing.

Thanks, and hopefully we can get this figured out.

Mike,

I am PMing you the last key we purchased now...

groups

I talked with Aaron tonight and he suggested just configuring both the ports and putting the inactive port in a different group from the active one. That works perfectly.

This issue doesn't appear to be resolved.

I have just set up a new server (Dell Optiplex 330) with a Sangoma A200 with 4 FXO ports (2 modules) and am exhibiting the same symptoms again. Can someone at Fonality look into the issue? The server is 127305.

Please note that I am also getting the "/bin/chown: cannot access '/dev/zap' : No such file or directory" error that I was getting in my first post. It seems to be a reproducible symptom.

After the system is running issuing a restart all command will let asterisk start and load the configuration. Without the card configuration loaded asterisk will start fine after a reboot.

Thanks in advance.

Try changing acpi=off to

Try changing acpi=off to acpi=on in /etc/grub.conf . Reinstall card. Run setup-sangoma

That will not work in tb Pro

That will not work in tb Pro - the acpi=on always gets replaced with acpi=off.

Have you tried to issue the "wanrouter hwprobe verbose". Make sure that the A200 is recognizing all your modules. If not try to reseat the card. Had this same problem about a week ago. Reseating the card, even though it was seated correctly the first time fixed my issue.
