I don't know if I am missing something, but I searched for info on how to configure polycom phones for TBP and have had no luck. I have some 301s and 330s. The 301s are stuck in a costant reboot cycle with a "macaddress.cfg" error(macaddress= actual macaddress of the phone). the 330 give an error aboot the boot server. Is there a DOC on what paramaters need to be set on polycom phones in order to get them to work with TBP.

Such as:
DHCP options: is it custom or option 66
Should it be FTP TFTP SFTP
ETC.

Basically what do we need to do to the polycom phones?

With the aastra phones we have had no problems, but I am clueless as to how to configure the polycom phones for TBP.

Any help would be great.

Enter the mac address of the

Enter the mac address of the phone, this should automatically set it to Polycom. Assign the phone to an extension. On the phone, set it to Trivial FTP and point it to the IP address of the TBP system.

that was easy. Thanks for

that was easy. Thanks for the info the 301s are now working. However my AAstra 480i CT is working, but it is displaying the SIP username or the MAC or the SIP password(take your pic they are all the same) on the screen. IS there a way to change the display. I have tried changing it from the phone and nothing seems to change the fact that it is displaying the MAC. Is there something wrong with the config file or something?

I got the IP330 to work, but

I got the IP330 to work, but it displays "sip.id" not compatible everytime I boot the phone. Although it is showing this the phone is still working. Do you know how to get rid of that error message?

sip.ld not compatible

This would be because the sip.ld we ship is from the 1.6.x branch of the firmware, and many of the newer phones *require* a firmware from the 2.x branch. You could SSH into your trixbox Pro system as root and move sip.ld out of /tftpboot (or replace it with a newer release).

But, please remember if you use any of the phones that are on our certified hardware list (currently IP 501, IP 601, and IP 4000) you *must* use the firmware that is outlined at http://www.trixbox.com/support-and-training/support/certified-har... for us to fully support you if you should have any troubles with the phones.

Does it hurt to just leave

Does it hurt to just leave things alone and ignore the error message, or do I need to change the sip.ld via ssh?

There shouldn't be any

There shouldn't be any problem with leaving the older firmware on the system. The phone recognizes that it's not supported, so it won't even try to use it.

I am having the same problem

I am having the same problem as IGWUN posted. The phone reboots constantly with error in macaddress.cfg... Where should I enter the MAC address of the phone as you suggested to IGWUN?
