Changing extensions

We are moving to a new block of phone numbers, and we want the extensions to match. (e.g. XXX-9204 goes to extension 204). We are currently using 1XX extensions. How do I change these extensions to a new one? I have tried creating new extensions, but it would require that I create new user names and passwords for their web login. Any thoughts on how to get around this?
