Hud and linux
I've read that you can only use HUD-lite on Linux, is this the case discounting virtualization (vmware, kvm, etc...)? Assuming that is the case, can HUD-lite connect to a HUD Pro Server? I am not an admin on the trixbox server, and before I go about trying to get my admin to ssh in and grab the password, and open the port, I'd like to make sure it can be done in the first place. Thanks in advanced for the help.
Yes, I also need to know is there a HUDpro client for Linux? I'm OK with Alpha or Beta builds, but seriously do I have to have a Windows box or a Mac to connect to the office TrixBox pro? If there isn't one, are there any plans for one? And if there are not any plans for one, can you document the backend protocol so we can build one?
Thanx,
John
We do not know if we will release a HUD3 client for Linux at this time and no, IAX will not be added because SIP through firewalls is a configuration issue in almost all cases. We have thousands of systems installed with a large percentage having remote phones and we do not see very many issues with SIP when the firewalls are configured properly. IAX is also not an industry standard and there are no major brand devices that support it.
