Softphone Config

Hello,

Super newbie question. In trixboxPro, when adding a soft phone like x-lite, the drop down doesn't have x-lite listed. I assume that "other" that is listed in Uncertified Phones is the obvious choice. But when I click add device it asks for SIP Phone MAC address must be 12 hexadecimal characters (0 - 9, A - F). What should we be putting in this field?

Put in Counterpath since they make X-lite. then the mac address field changes to read SOFTPHONE

Is this the only way to connect remotely to my trixboxpro server?? Can I download HUDlite and install it on a remote machine?? If yes, what kind of configuration should I do?? I ask because I've tried to do it, but the remote machine never connects, although I've done all sorts of port forwarding to the trixbox system.

If you choose Other than you

If you choose Other than you just need a 12 digit hex number like 000000000001, that will be your sip login and password. Assuming your ports are forwarded and your ISP isn't blocking voip traffic, it should be good to go.
