Hi,

I have a cisco 7970 that was working fine, till I hung up on a call (in a good way :-). The phone turned off, and will not come back to life. It was properly configured (similar configs to 10 other 7970s in the office). When plugged into a netgear poe switch, it just flickers the poe light (no life). When plugged into a power-cube, I hear a relay click in the phone, but that is as far as it gets. I have no problem taking the phone apart if that is what it takes (since it is dead to me as is).

Thanks for your help and suggestions,
Dan

More than likely, it's dead.

This sounds like a 7960 I have. I would test it furthur, but unfortunately it has a different mainboard/ethernet combination than any of my other Cisco phones! As such, I can't even do a swap test to see exactly which board is bad. (And I don't have a lot of free time to trace where the power is going. I have way too many of these as it is.)

If I had it I might be able to figure it out, but???

It sucks, but sometimes that just how it goes.

ummm i know this sounds dumb but.....

did you think to swap the pwr cube? Just on the off chance that is bad. I have seen that happen once. Beats tossing the phone out the window.

Do you have a link for that.

Do you have a link for that. I saw that guy/company before, but when looking for it/him/company recently, I cannot seem to find it back
