This is rediculous, are there any SIP services that work with Trixbox?
I tried Iconnecthere, only can use outbound, never got incbound to work
Voicepulse, worked great till they pushed me off their server to another one that RFC2833 doesn't work, or at least doesn't work for me.
Tried Signing up for VoIPstreet, nobody home there. Took my Credit card number and no response. Of course, does not work either.
Is there anyone here with the latest version of trixbox that works with anything?
Sorry if I sound frustrated but I have spent way too much time screwing around with this thing. what gives?
John,
Since your network apparently is already tak with the People at IPComms.
www.ipcomms.net
Have them working with 1.2 and 1.4 Distros.
Well, these guys have a pretty web page but...
https://www.myipcomms.net/IP/freedid.aspx
I filled out this whole page submit and guess what?
The webpage cannot be found
HTTP 404
Most likely causes:
There might be a typing error in the address.
If you clicked on a link, it may be out of date.
They can't seem to get a contact-us page to work
I think I will pass on having them host my business line.
Voipstreet's contact us numbers have been disconnected so much for them.
John,
Unfortunately, there is a bug in Asterisk that causes widespread DTMF issues and it is in almost all current releases of Asterisk and Trixbox. A fix has recently been added to the Asterisk code, but it has not made its way to a release version and into Trixbox:
Fix a problem where inbound rfc2833 audio would be sent to the core instead of being P2P bridged. When the core regenerated the rfc2833 packet for the outbound leg, the SSRC would be different than the RTP audio on the call leg causing DTMF detection issues on the far end.
After examining the code, it is apparent that this bug will cause issues in almost all cases and if it doesn't -- it's luck -- not a planned workaround. The problem also lies on both the provider end and the customer end, so there's no quick fix other than waiting for all provider and customers to upgrade to a fixed version (once it comes out).
Interesting but I thought the box merely sets up the call then the two enpoints communicate independently unless proxy is set?
That would not be completely correct. There are many different scenarios depending on the providers architecture.
You may want to give Broadvox a call or an email. They own their own network and gateways and utilize a Broadsoft switch.
They are a true business class tier 2 provider.
I spoke with Kaylee at IPcomms, very pleasant to deal with but they have no local numbers in my area. Go figure, the capital city of NC and no numbers.
She is setting me up with a free number in some area like KY or something. Suppose thats great for testing but not much I can use productively.
So my quest for a trunk provider continues,...
BTW, someone I called is actually more expensive than a wireline with AT&T INCLUDING taxes.
Let me check out Voicemeup.com now...
Voicepulse is a class act one of the best in the biz, if you can not use them power off your PBX and find something else to play with
As KerryG said... Vitelity they also are one of the best...but from the looks of the providers you are posting you are looking for a GOOD provider you are looking for some CHEAP fly by night service....
I have NO DTMF issue on any VP / Vitelity at this time NONE.............(100's of boxes)
thanks Bubba, but your statement is not really helping.
What I mean by that is what versions you are those boxes running and what server you are on at VP? Voicepulse just stated there is a major bug in Asterisk with no fix yet.
BTW, I DO respect all the people that work at VoicePulse especially Jeff who worked very hard trying to get my stuff to work right. I definately don't want to drop them if any way possible. And all WAS running smooth on NYC and SFO. It was when I got bumped to JFK is when my server suddenly showed some bugs.
As of now I am using VP for inbound and IConnecthere for outbound until situation resolved.
But it's the weekend and I am not going to worry about it any mo. Thanks to all who chimed in. Eveyone have a great weekend, besides I think a lot of beer might just fix this problem afterall. :-)
I just got a call from Voicemeup. He said that their service will work fine with what I have here and will have me ready to go by Tuesday. We'll see Thanks jingxi02 :-)
Hey, I haven't tried this with the newest version of Trixbox. I've also been having problem with the newest version. (not allowing anonymous sip calls)
Anyways, I've used Broadvoice w/ very good results. They give 2 incoming lines, and 2 outgoing. Caller ID, e911 etc etc. I'd suggest them, they should work with the new version.

I my stuff is working great with Voicemeup.
Their control panel ROCKS, no more guessing what the provider is doing because you set both ends yourself!
DTMFs also work and the voice quality made me check my flash panel to ensure I was on VoIP! Oh also very affordable, I am jazzed.
Thank you so much jingxi02!!
