Lame Question - 0800 IAX provider in UK
Being on the other side of the world at GMT +12, there may be local info I don't have. I'm looking for someone who can give me IAX trunk termination with a UK 0800 number.
Searching the forums didn't show up much, and Google has showed me a few, but there may be UK users reading here who have better local knowledge and can provide a recommendation.
Thanks
Andrew
we use two providers for inbound calls in UK gradwell.com (can't see if they do 0800) and voiptalk.org ( http://www.voiptalk.org/products/0800+Freephone+VoIP+Number ) - we use both for outbound calls (much more) too, gradwell slightly higher general call quality, voiptalk easier & more flexible config.
I'll try to help any way I can, let me know if I can help further.
I'd probably recommend voiptalk to get started with, you could also get a UK geographic number and you can then choose from dozens of 0800 providers (e.g. (picked at random from google) (http://www.call08.com/0808-numbers.php)) - that way you can offer a geographic number too as the non-geo (0800 at al) are usually NOT free to call from mobile phones etc.

We use sipgate and have never had a problem but they dont do 0800,
Have a look at http://www.2cancall.co.uk they can provide IAX trunk, they are members of the forum so no doubt might see the post, two of our customers that i know of use them and have had no problems.
Gradwell can supply numbers including 0800 although on their web site they do not quote a specific price for terminating just one 0800 to an IAX2 trunk. Their tech support is good and knowledgable. I use them and set up their trunks SIP / IAX2 for my clients. I suggest you email tech support - contact details here. http://www.gradwell.com/contact/
I am sure they will be able to sort you out. Since I am in the UK, if you need help from an intermediary here let me know.
