BroadVoice on TrixBox Pro
I had a TrixBox CE that I had working with Broadvoice; but it got struck by lightning and the person that helped install that machine wasn't available anymore. So I loaded Trixbox PRO SE and had a Sangoma card installed and got the 3 PSTN lines up and going. We were using the Broadvoice for just our out going calls to save on our LD bill. I'm thinking that I have everything setup on the voip section correctly I entered the username as the phone number and the password is what I got off of broadvoices website. The status just says request sent. I checked the firewall and activity on the 5060 port to the internal IP and I get a lot of activity out but zero packets in to the sip.broadvoice.com.
Thanks
Jim

Additionally, the Broadvoice website has a step by step instruction for asterisk users. Read and follow them explicitly. Dont skip steps. Also dont forget the following:
they have many different proxy servers each of which can be connected to specifically.
you will need to ping the one you prefer to use and then enter that into /etc/hosts file.
Although i have read many negatives about broadvoice, i have been using them for a year now and am very pleased with my results. The lnp was a little slow took one full month. Other than that, it has never stopped working; is always clear with no echo. I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend their services highly.
hope this works for you.
I know that I was able to edit different conf files in TrixBox CE but I'm not sure how I get to these files using the TrixBoxPro SE version. I still pretty new to the whole Trixbox experience, so I'm doing a lot of hunting and pecking trying to find what I need without breaking it. My support that I used to have on the TrixBox CE isn't available anymore so that is why I switched to the Trixbox PRO SE verison, figured it would be easier on a newbie like myself.
Did you ever get Trixbox Pro SE to work with Broadvoice?
The only way I can get rid of the N/A is to change the registration string to the Trixbox Pro SE default which is your bv #:password@sip.broadvoice.com but then it just sits at Request Sent. Dustin in tech support assisted with speaking to a BroadVoice technician but the bv tech was no help and didn't know where to look for a trace of incoming requets.
Has anyone got the Trixbox Pro SE to work with BroadVoice? It works with Trixbox CE but CE is more flexible when tweaking the incoming and outing settings on the trunk.
I did not change /etc/hosts to use BroadVoice. In the Peer section I used:
...
host=sip.broadvoice.com
outboundproxy=proxy.nyc.broadvoice.com
fromuser=401496XXXX
fromdomain=sip.broadvoice.com
...
My register string is:
401496XXXX@sip.broadvoice.com:password:401496XXXX@proxy.nyc.broadvoice.com
