Hello everyone

I can find information on uploding system messages but nothing about uploading pre-recorded mailbox messages. I am refering to your unavailable/busy/name/temporary greeting messages.

Is there a way to upload and use pre-recorded mailbox messages for a TB 2.6.2.3 system?

Regards

Fred

try uploading under /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/ext#

try uploading as temp.wav and temp.WAV under /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/ext#

I use temp greetings as part of an early warning system for landslides where a set of remote users are able to update the status of routes by recording a temp greeting for their corresponding routes and motorists are able to dial in and listen to a chain of temp greetings played one after the other such that they get to know the status of all routes via a single call.

Whenever a temp greeting is recorded for an extension, it appears as two files under /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/ext# where ext# is the number of the extension. The two files are temp.wav and temp.WAV

Since I do not need to process the temp greetings independantly of asterisk, I have not investigated the format of the two files. If you are able to upload your pre-recorded greetings in the same format I think you will be able to present your pre-recorded greetings as default.

If the greeting is the same for all users, it might be easier for you to replace asterisk's default sound files with your pre-recorded greetings.

Either way let us know how it goes.

The different files are just

The different files are just different formats for transcoding/emailing purposes. You can upload any asterisk compatible format

You can also upload unavail.wav, greet.wav, busy.wav to the same directory.
