SCCP missing from Package Manager
Hi Kerry
Thanks again for your quick response, i used the package manager to install chan_sccp rpm about 2 weeks ago, and ahve done a couple of others the same way, it's real handy.
It's a real bugger that you have to use it, but like the guy above "reubanks" said on certain cisco devices (ie expansion modules, wifi phones, audio conference phones) they only support Cisco's SCCP protocol, hence we need Chan_SCCP.
I would always prefer to use SIP, but in some cases that is just not possible. The bugger also is once you go away from sip, you also loose some really neat tools - like HudLite.
The only reason i remain using Cisco phones is because when they are setup correctly they work really well, from desk phones throught to wifi phones.
Cheers

I'm using SCCP right now with trixbox 2.0.
kerryg,
In general, the Cisco SIP images where lacking in stability and features vs SCCP. Cisco is now committed to SIP so this should change with the newer phones (79x2/x5). However, I doubt the same commitment will be seen with the older (79x0 and possibly 79x1)) phones like the 7940G that I have so I still see a need for the SCCP module in the PM.
