Possible first trixbox deployment
I was asked if I could deploy this. No actual hardware listed just this outline and I jumped at the chance to potentially do my first trixbox deployment.

Here is what I am looking at so far:
1. Dell PowerEdge SC440, Core2Duo, 4GB, 2 x 250GB (RAID1), trixbox Pro EE
2. Not sure exactly what they are looking for...
3. 25 x Aastra 57i, Aastra 480i or mix
4. ???
This is for a 25 user office (All Mac Lappies and Workstations)
Let me know what you think... and what you can add... I may have missed quite a few things but its been a long few days... I am also looking into using Adtran PoE Switches.
1. Dell PowerEdge SC440, Core2Duo, 4GB, 2 x 250GB (RAID1), trixbox Pro EE
-- Servers good I would recommend CE for flexibility and a more modern kernel.
2. Not sure exactly what they are looking for...
-- Looks like 8 FXO lines might I recomend an R8FXX-ec with 4 FXO modules
-- Your note said option T1 card so if the 8 come in on T1 this reenforces the need for a newer kernel might I recocmend an R1T1 in this case
3. 25 x Aastra 57i, Aastra 480i or mix
57i is pricey but worth it Aastra is a good call we all use 57is at our office.
4. Traditional pbx systems often require a add on for voice mail. the built vm will work and allow more than 4 connections..
>> you could dump some ram - you probably wont ever even max out 700 mb of ram on a system like that, 2 gb would be plenty safe.
Yea it's a pretty small setup but the upgrade from 1GB to 4GB is only $49 through Dell. Kinda hard to say no :-)
>> 55i is also a great set, just below the 57i ;)
I was looking at that as well. I will know the budget better after I meet with them.
Thanks!
