Need help with voicemail to e-mail with and exchange 2003 server

Hey there, I Need help with Trixbox CE 2.6.1 voicemail to e-mail setup with exchange 2003 on same network.
Both the trixbox and exchange2003 box are on the same subnet behind the same firewall.

The exchange box has been working fine for 4 years and is running trend micro worry free
The trixbox has been configured and is working properly for a week now with voicemails and everything to the system

I am trying to enable the voicemail to e-mail portion. I even tried paid support for CE to get through the issue, but did not get very far due to the 'exchange' gorilla in the room.

I am pretty well experienced with exchange and Microsoft. I am a beginner with the SSH and Linux.

I have been good with modifying config files when needed on the trixbox through SSH though

I have enabled relaying for the trixbox internal IP on the exchange server.

I am not sure where to begin to test from the trixbox end.

I entered my e-mail address in the extensions on the trixbox unit. In the beginning it worked going out to my hotmail, but in my config changes, that does not work any more.

How can I test (and see log files) from SSH so I can troubleshoot where the mail might be going and why/if it is not being accepted from the exchange.

Also, postfix/sendmail have both been installed and uninstalled a couple times, I could use some direction on which one to have installed on the trixbox if needed.

Ultimately I would like the trixbox just to relay through the exchange unit so the voicemails can go to the appropriate users box.
