License Structure for HUD 3
From what I can tell, it appears that once HUD 3 is in production, there will no longer be a HUD lite? HUD 3 looks impressive, however, has anyone seen or know the pricing structure for licensing? I'm assuming that CE users (or any other Asterisk based distros) will be able to purchase HUD 3 licensing for use on their specific platform?
“We’re delivering enterprise-level unified communications capabilities to a large, undeserved market at a fraction of the price of similar offerings from Microsoft, Cisco and others,” said Chris Lyman, Fonality CEO. “HUD 3 brings SMS, mobile integration and many more unified communication features to our PBXtra and trixbox customers, allowing employees to work seamlessly together whether at the office, home or on the road.”

Wow - does anyone check the copy before it leaves for the press?
This is a huge gaff, Nobody picked this up?
At least I already got my first laugh of the day -

Why is the market so undeserving? Are they not worth of Fonality code?
One thinks they meant 'under served" since there is no compound word 'underserved'
A spell checked can be a very dangerous thing in the hands of the untrained.
Thanks for giving us all a laugh this Friday morning Scott.
Also I wanted clarification on the new HUD. From my understanding every time the clients is opened on the computer it needs to contact Fonality servers for validation before it can connect to the asterisk box. Is this correct?
Keep in mind that Fonality has two product lines. HUD3 will be available on trixbox pro soon. It does connect to our server when you start it up. This is actually a feature. You can fire up HUD3 from any computer in the world and it will figure out based on your login and password how to connect to your server.
As for HUD3 on trixbox CE we are still working on how logins will work. Stay tuned!
I mentioned this a week or so ago but will say it again here, based on feedback from people we talked to about how the licensing and authentication was going to work we have decided that the CE community would expect something very different, we are currently working on changing the licensing model and authentication system around based on our new design. Yes, this is causing a delay but we had enough people feel strongly enough about it that we decided to make the changes.
