Fees

Has license fees been published for this? It would be ideal if a Lite version is released as many users would benefit from it as the costs (any) would be a great barrier for adoption.

Guess it would be for cheapskates and freeloaders.

If all software was open source who would fund the development of the Open Source in the first place?

I feel like I hit a philosophical issue here and would try to answer your question with hopes of not starting a flame. I'm not asking that all software be open source. There exists lots of proprietary software solutions that are rightly so because its a good business model. One of the great benefit of open source is the existence of closed source, proprietary software. HUD or a lite version would offer a great value to any asterisk offering. Its really up to the end user and the responsibility of those that have the power within their control to do the right thing and contribute back to the project.
