Network setup advise, VLANs and DHCP

So the network is going to have 2 vlans voice and data. My deal is what to do about DHCP server? I have a linksys router going into a duel nic ms server 2003 (ISA 2004) and its 2nd nic goes into the main switch with all the other computers. So the linksys is a dhcp and gives out ip address to the first nic on the ms server and the ms server is DHCP for my data network.

Now what would be the best, put the trixbox and phones on the MS server and let it deal with address but keep the voice on a vlan, or completely separate the networks and let trixbox do dhcp for the phones?

If it is the later I don’t want the linksys router to be the dhcp server for the phones and trixbox, but I need internet access to the trixbox? I’m a bit confused on how to setup the LAN. I’m liking the idea of 2 vlans with ms server access to both vlans but then again I can see a nice virus eating up my data and voice network in one shot. So how do you all set this up if you don’t want to be called in the middle of your days off?

PS every office has dual cat 5e jacks so I can have 2 separate lans if needed.

Thank you for any help and advise you all have

switches and phone management

First a couple of questions:
what switches are you using.
what phones/provisiong methods do you plan on using.

Seperate VLANs make more sense if you have a need to cutdown or separate broadcast domains, you are using them to QOS the voice data, you want to more simply provision your phones.

If your provisioning the phones via dhcp I would have the trixbox handle dhcp for the voice vlan. This means your phone system will kinda be "self enclosed" since the only server on that vlan should be the trixbox this presents you no problems. I would place a third nic potentially in the ISA server if you do not have an internal router to route phone/data subnet traffic out to the inet. Since all systems should have the ISA server set as a default route this should get you all the connectivity you might need, for something like HUD. I would not dual home the trixbox and more preferentially I would setup and internal router/firewall to handle the inter vlan routing rather than using your edge firewall (aka ISA server).

Dell POE

I'm using dell POE switches and a web managed gig switch for the server switch. All can deal with vlan.
