trixbox Live recap
We ended up with about 100 people attending the event and really had a good time. We tried to keep it as product agnostic as possible with more emphasis on how to do a good job as a sales engineer, how to show the value of the products, and how to do better at closing sales. We gave away a large stack of prizes including three trixbox Appliances. The feedback has been tremendous and we are planning the next events now. Here are some pics from the event.

Larry Augustin to speak at trixbox Live!
We have just secured Larry Augustin as a special guest speaker at trixbox Live next week. If you don't know who Larry is, you probably should, he is certainly on of the people that I really look up to. Here is a little background on Larry for those who don't already know:
Larry Augustin is an angel investor and advisor to early stage technology companies. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Compiere, Fonality, Hyperic, Medsphere, Pentaho, SugarCRM, and XenSource. One of the group who coined the term "Open Source", he has written and spoken extensively on Open Source worldwide. Worth Magazine named him to their list of the Top 50 CEOs in 2000. From 2002 to 2004 he was a Venture Partner at Azure Capital Partners. In 1993 he founded VA Linux (now SourceForge, NASDAQ:LNUX), where he served as CEO until August 2002. While CEO he launched SourceForge.net and led the company through an IPO in 1999. Larry can be found online at http://lmaugustin.com.
trixbox Live! Update
I have to say this is one of the most anticipated events we have ever done and I can't wait for it to happen. We had to move into a much bigger room to accommodate all the signups. What this means though is that I have a lot more backing from some different companies to help make this a huge success and to make it worthwhile for everyone to attend.
What you will see
The Day is full of different presentations beginning with Andrew and I talking about CE and doing a demo of the latest features of the CE project. After this, Chris Sherwood (schwood) who is our senior sales engineer will help teach you some tips on the pre-sales process to help make your sales go smoother from a planning point of view. After that, Chris Lyman will be doing a demo of HUD (with a sneak peak at HUD3). After lunch (which is provided by us for free), I will be doing a demo of trixbox Pro, and then Brad Pitt will be teaching you how to maximize your sales and marketing. This is a jam packed day of learning everything about trixbox, effective sales engineering, and effective sales and marketing. Its going to be well worth it!
What you could win!!
Besides t-shirts and hands galore, we have:
- Several trixbox appliances
- a handful of Aastra phones
- Gift certificates from VoipLink
- Some Sangoma cards
- more coming!
Remember, this is not a webinar, this is a LIVE, In-Person event at the LAX Westin in Los Angeles, for more info or to register, go to:

trixbox CE VMWare Image Available - Please test
It is still heading out to mirrors right now but we have released a new VMWare image for trixbox CE 2.6.1. that is optimized for VMWare. The image is known to work well on the latest versions of the VMWare Player and Workstation but not on VMWare Server 1.x as it does not provide some of the features we used to make the image.
This should be a significant improvement over vmware images in the past but we need people to test it on a variety of systems and let us know how it works.
The best way to get it is to check the SF mirrors. As soon as we get enough feedback I will move it to the official downloads page. Thanks.
